I AM SMEJ

This is a story about a dream that came true. This is a story about a little girl who decided to change the industry.

I was 13 years old when I started to ask myself: why don't we have any big brands in Kuwait? Why do people prefer imported clothing over local? Why are there things with a big logo but no brand identity?

Back then, I made an important decision—to study all types of art to create my own brand. No one believed it was possible, except me.

I was doing everything by myself: from designing the prints to transportation and dealing with customers.

A dream came true: customers from all over the world, exhibitions, and invitations.

"You said you can do it, and you did," said one of my school friends.

My name became known, but that was not enough. I needed a real brand identity.

In December 2019, SMEJ (Shaimaa Mohammed Essa Al-jumah) officially became a small business.

Today, I am happy to make another step on my way to the big dream.
